FEEDING FAQ’s

What are the feeding rates? Every pet is unique. It’s important to start with the recommended feeding rates on the bag and then adjust accordingly.

Do you recommend feeding once, twice, or three times per day? Once is actually better for dogs. They were designed to eat one large meal a day as opposed to several smaller meals.

Can I just fill the bowl and let my dog eat what it wants? We recommend limiting the amount of food left out for pets. Our foods are traditionally higher in protein and fat, which provide more calories and nutrition. This reduces the amount needed.

Don’t overweight dogs need low calorie diets? Not necessarily. Most of the time, a low-calorie diet is actually dangerously high in carbohydrates and can cause dramatic spikes in insulin levels. This can lead to weight gain and in many cases diabetes.

I don’t see one that says Puppy, Senior or Adult. How do I pick the right one? Typically, that’s just an excuse to charge more for a food by marketers. In the wild all dogs, regardless of age, eat the same thing from the day they're weaned -meat! However, for puppies, we recommend our Ancient Grains Pork and Chicken recipe, due to its high-protein and high-fat profile.
